I'm strangely excited about the idea of Cameron/Daniel slash. I shouldn't be, because I love Jack/Daniel so much and I never want to see them break up, but yes, the idea of Ben Browder and Michael Shanks together? Mind-boggling.

Of course, Ben Browder's character could suck, but what's the chance of that? He won't be John Crichton, and that's pretty much who he is for me at the moment. I know that he won't be John Crichton. But can he manage to be less sexy than Crichton? I don't think so. Let's face it, Crichton had a tendency to be pretty annoying at times, bordering on outright crazy. Still, with Aeryn, or even with that girl from PK Tech Girl (which I just rewatched, hence the excitement), he was the sexiest thing ever. It's the way he looks at them, the way he touches them... Oh god, his touches. I get goosebumps all over and my heart beats a bit faster when I see those scenes... he is so...focused, as if she were all that matters. So good.

We don't get these scenes in Stargate. There was that one possessive kiss between Sha're and Daniel, but that looked more like marking her territory, annd it wasn't sexy. At least I didn't think so. Jack and Daniel don't kiss like that. There was that kiss between Daniel and Kera, which was even less sexy. We got to see nothing (except for half-naked Jack, so I'm not complaining) in Bried Candle. Fact is, on screen, SG-1 is almost as bad as Mulder judging by the amount of sex they don't have. And so we never get to see them in the situations we saw Crichton and Aeryn in. I can imagine how it would look if Jack and Daniel would kiss, but with Crichton, I know what it lookes like. And thinking that he could kiss Daniel with that same focused tenderness...

Oh yeah. Works for me.

Can't it be July already? I'm so excited about Season 9! I was terrified before season 8, thinking about all the things they could screw up, but now it doesn't feel as if they could screw anything up. I'm not sure why, I just know that I don't worry at all. It'll be fabulous, and I want it now. NOW.

I better go read some more of these ficathons stories now, I need an outlet for my J/D love.

So[livejournal.com profile] taelonmahal was kind enough to send me a vid about one of these space shows were they wear pyjamas all day long and run around with weirdly blinking multi-purpose remote controls, what in my opinion is a rather complicated way to open doors.
I am ashamed to admit that I forgot which show this vid is about. Deep Space Nine, maybe?

In any case, it is hard not to see the attraction. That young guy with the big eyes, a doctor, it seems, has a crush on that alien with the weird rings around his eyes. And the alien is all over vhim, I bet he makes the nice doctor do naughty things with his doctor tools all the time. They were all over each other at breakfast, or whatever names they give their meals on those ships. I mean, if you are wearing pyjamas all the time, shouldn't all the meals be breakfast?

So yes, I see the slash. I am also squicked. Because inter-species sexual relationships that don't involve Chiana? So wrong.
I don't count Aeryn, because physically she looks the same, but the guy from the pyjama show? Ugh.
I have decided that just this once, it is okay for me to be a racist in this regard, because aliens are - as hard as it might be to believe - not real. And therefore, I do not have to want to read about them having sex. I wonder if that's why people don't write much Teal'c sex scenes. I don't really think of him as an alien, but if I had to read a Teal'c sex scene, it would inevitably come up. The subject of him being an alien, I mean. I feel sorry for Teal'c, but I'd rather not deal with it. I'd blissfully read Teal'c sex that ignores his pouch, empty or not. I am incredibly squicked by any story that includes that thing in the sex act.
*shudder*

This week is just full of sexual revelations for me. First no incest, now no alien sex. Except when it's Thor, of course. Heh.

[livejournal.com profile] taelonmahal? Thanks for the vid, I really liked it. Did you make it yourself?

By now, the few of you who have read all of this will have wondered where I do spend my time, since all I said was "not anymore", not at them moment" and "not yet".
And yes, you guessed it, HIGHLANDER ate my brain.

Want to know what I did the last few days when I didn't read my flist and didn't post?
I watched Highlander. I read Highlander slash. I watched more Highlander. I read more slash.
Mainly, this is what my life looks like since, I don't know when I discovered it, but pretty much since then. No, it actuall took me a while to fall for Duncan, but I fell for Mehos immediately, and now I'm lost.
It feels like Stargate is my husband, and Highlander is the man of my life whom I've met just a week to late to actually give up my marriage for him. I will never get a divorce, but I doubt I'll ever find the strength or the will to end my passionate affair with Highlander.
Good thing that this is fandom and not real life, so bigamy isn't that much of a problem.

You thought this was all? )

Okay, now I'm done.
I can't believe that I have a real life beside all this. But it does explain why my days always feel so short, and why I never sleep more than four or five hours.
I just want to briefly mention that I am absolutely, totally head over heels in love with Gigi Edgley. Claudia Black is hot, no doubt, but she is the person I want to look at and admire from far away. (not too far, though)
Gigi Edgley is hot and cute, she's got the greatest smile and I want her very much. Did I mention hot? )

That is all.

P.S: Why yes, I have been watching Farscape convention material. ;-)

I finally watched the new Farscape Trailer (see download instructions here.)
I have yet to see season 4, and I haven't read much fanfic yet, so I don't really "feel" like a fan. But that trailer?
*WANTS*
When does it start? Someone will tell me, right? Well, the collective squee will probably be heard here in Europe, so I don't have to worry about missing it. I just worry that I won't be able to download and watch all of sesaon 4 until then.
*checks ebay again*
Damn, nobody wants to get rid of their DVDs.
I need to get myself some Farscape icons.

Other things:
[livejournal.com profile] castalie!!! The CDs arrived! Thank you! *squees and bounces* Guess it'll be an Oz weekend then. ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] taelonmahal: I haven't forgotten you. Am copying Atlantis right now. :-)

Is there any way to download the new Farscape Trailer, for people who don't have quicktime and can't install it, because there computer sucks? (yes, I'm talking about myself)
I can watch it on the other computer, but that doesn't have an internet connection.

I have a good excuse for not answering comments and not commenting myself on the beautiful pics and stories that have been posted during the last days.
The excuse is called Farscape Season 3, which made its way into my home DVD player on Friday, effectively keeping me glued to the TV.
I only took a short break to watch "Affinity" on Saturday morning (*arm porn, squee!*), but I am unable to post about it.
And I have developed an irrational fear of Stark. He scares me.
Okay, back to the TV, bye.
(and if someone could tell me if there are any Aeryn/John/John stories, I'd be very grateful. I'm in the mood for porn. ;-)

Yep, I'm still alive. Apparently it is not possible to overdose on Farscape, no matter how much I tried.
I'm on a short Farscape break right now, trying to finally read my flist and answer lj-comments. The heat is killing me. Yes, we have about 33 °C everyday, all day, all night. Well, it colls down a little in the night, but not much.
I hate heat. I like summer, but I hate heat. I sweat and I get little heat zits on my knees and feet, and I hate, hate, hate heat.
At least the heat we have here, because it is so humid that I can't even dry my clothes outside. They dry, and then they get damp from the heat.
Right, I'll stop complaining about the heat now. (Did I mention that my computer is right under the roof? Where it gets really HOT? )

I haven't watched Atlantis yet (because if all the Farscape *g*), but I have some very quick thoughts about the new Stargate:

I had a rather busy day, working in the morning, watching Farscape (*g*) in the afternoon, then sport, and now I'm going out. But I leave a little meme for you, stolen from several people.
I know I haven't been around all that long, so I should remember, and I mostly do, but I'd still like to know how you remember.
Here's the meme:

Part of being on Livejournal.com is inevitably gaining a number of LJ buddies. Unfortunately, as time wears on, it's easy to forget where all of them came from. Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first 'meeting' you.
"Meeting" means whatever you want it to mean, since I have met only a very few of you in person.
I was going to post about the QAF season finale and the many reasons why Babylon 5 fails to attract me, but then my Farscape DVDs arrived.
I'll see you sometime next week. *g*

*farscapefarscapefarscape*

I also managed to almost slit my wrist while opening the package with the DVDs and am getting comment notification dating late june, so the day promises to be an interesting one.

*farscapefarscapefarscape*

Oh, the prettiness! Aren't they the prettiest DVD box sets ever? Don't get me wrong, I like the Stargate ones, but they look boring compared to the Farscape box sets. The Farscape ones are so pretty. Prettyprettypretty.
I was literally squeeing when I opened the box. Brand-new shiny Farscape DVDs. *Squeeee!*
Just bought Farscape DVDs at Ebay. Of course I had to buy the Season 2 box set, because everyone and their dogs seem to be buying Season 1 at the moment, and it is just to damn expensive. Season 2 was a lot more than I would usually spent, but still, Farscape. Let the obsession begin. *g*

Is there someone who doesn't know the effect of saying a word so often that it begins to sound strange and doesn't make sense anymore?
Well, I managed to read so much Highlander fic that I found myself staring at the word "Duncan" for a full thirty seconds without being able to figure out what it meant. It just looked weird, "Dun" and "can", and what is the "can" doing there anyway.
Note to self: stop reading slash when it begins to melt your brain.

I finally figured out how to organize my Gmail account. Now I'm just waiting how long it takes to max the 1 GB limit. With my fourty groups, that shouldn't be a problem.

I can't post without complaining:
I don't get all my LJ comments. You are laughing now, but it isn't funny anymore. I thought they had figured out where all those comments disappeared to, but mine still aren't there. I wouldn't even have noticed if it wasn't for a comment I left somewhere that I expected an answer for. The answer was there, just not in my inbox. I swear, one of these days I'm going to kill LJ. I seem to be getting all the comments that are left in my own LJ though, so if I didn't answer those, that's just me being lazy. Can't blame LJ for that.

Last but not least: Area 52 has been updated. Lovely fics by Kylie Lee, Salieri, Gigi and SEF, if you haven't read them yet, do so now.
I also read a fic by an author called Moonshayde that wasn't too bad. Set during New Order and Rising, so there are Season 8 and Atlantis spoilers. A take on the wellknown "Huh, I've got feelings for my best friend, how did that happen?" scenario, that isn't exactly new, but I didn't feel like I had wasted my time either. There's room for improvement, but when is there not? And I always try out the "new " authors, that is "new" to Area52. Though if you only have a limited amount of slash reading time, read the authors I named above.

Oh, and I don't think I've gipped the lovely Flyboys icon [livejournal.com profile] adinajo made yet, so GIP!
Notice how it is Sunday 6.54 a.m. and I'm awake? And have been awake since 6.15? Lately, my body seems to think that 6.15 a.m. is the right time to wake up and od things. Like, checking Bittorrent to see if the new Stargate and Stargate Atlantis have finally downloaded. Only a few more minutes to go!
Okay, I planned to go back to bed, but not of there is new Stargate. And then I'll read everything everyone else said, and I'll probably write something of my own too, plus, there's also the not-reading-friends-list for a week, at least not properly, so I'm planning to catch up this weekend.

Let's see, what else did I do?
Watched FARSCAPE for the first time in my life. Okay, can someone please explain why my friends list isn't crawling with John Crichton? And why nobody told me that Farscape is so good?
I thought it was just another of these stupid alien shows, and you know, I don't even like Sci-Fi...But it seems to be wonderful. I have only seen two eps so far and have already fallen in love with the blue woman. And Ben Browder of course. Where has he been hiding all those years?
I desperately want the DVDs, and I've seen that there a pretty, shiny Season 1 sets offered at Ebay and Amazon.
*Checks bank account*
Damn, I already bought so much this month. Can anyone tell me if the DVDs are worth buying?
*wants*

Which leads me to the things I've bought. Remember, I'm an Ebay addict, and as soos as I get paid... I'm so doomed. I'll have to starve myself the last week of this month.
Okay, I bought a CD by Jim Byrnes (from Highlander), and I have to say: I'm impressed. He has a great voice, and the CD is quite food. Sure, there are better blues CDs, but it is good enough, and it is Jim Byrnes. Also, he clearly loves to play, and the CD shows that.

And I bought a VCD of "Firehouse". For those of you who don't know, "Firehouse" is an unaired pilot of a series about firefighters in NY. And it is of course, with Richard Dean Anderson.
Spoilers )

Oh, the downloads are done! Going to watch new Staragate now, bye!
