Notice how it is Sunday 6.54 a.m. and I'm awake? And have been awake since 6.15? Lately, my body seems to think that 6.15 a.m. is the right time to wake up and od things. Like, checking Bittorrent to see if the new Stargate and Stargate Atlantis have finally downloaded. Only a few more minutes to go!
Okay, I planned to go back to bed, but not of there is new Stargate. And then I'll read everything everyone else said, and I'll probably write something of my own too, plus, there's also the not-reading-friends-list for a week, at least not properly, so I'm planning to catch up this weekend.
Let's see, what else did I do?
Watched FARSCAPE for the first time in my life. Okay, can someone please explain why my friends list isn't crawling with John Crichton? And why nobody told me that Farscape is so good?
I thought it was just another of these stupid alien shows, and you know, I don't even like Sci-Fi...But it seems to be wonderful. I have only seen two eps so far and have already fallen in love with the blue woman. And Ben Browder of course. Where has he been hiding all those years?
I desperately want the DVDs, and I've seen that there a pretty, shiny Season 1 sets offered at Ebay and Amazon.
*Checks bank account*
Damn, I already bought so much this month. Can anyone tell me if the DVDs are worth buying?
*wants*
Which leads me to the things I've bought. Remember, I'm an Ebay addict, and as soos as I get paid... I'm so doomed. I'll have to starve myself the last week of this month.
Okay, I bought a CD by Jim Byrnes (from Highlander), and I have to say: I'm impressed. He has a great voice, and the CD is quite food. Sure, there are better blues CDs, but it is good enough, and it is Jim Byrnes. Also, he clearly loves to play, and the CD shows that.
And I bought a VCD of "Firehouse". For those of you who don't know, "Firehouse" is an unaired pilot of a series about firefighters in NY. And it is of course, with Richard Dean Anderson.
Okay, I'll happily watch everythign this man ever did, and since Changeling, I doubt there is anyone who can resist him in a firefighter uniform. But Firehouse was, hm, let's just say that I can understand why the network didn't buy it.
The actors were alright. RDA is his usual charming self, playing a divorced firefighters who likes kids. The other actors are alright, though it was kind of weird to see Diane Wittlesey and Ryan O'Reily from OZ together as husband and wife.
But she wsa good and convincing in her role as the paramedic that invades the male territory of firefighters. I loved the scene where she just walks into the shower. *g*
The story was promising enough: firefighters get shot by a sniper while fighting fires. But the way it was told? Not so much.
There was no real focus. Too many things they tried to show and solve at the same episode, as if they had know that the network wouldn't buy the series. Instead of introducing the characters slowly, and solving things later, they tried to do it all in the pilot. I didn't care about the sniper at all, there was no suspense, not even when we saw him on the roof. The only thing I was interested in was the paramedic story line, and of course, RDA.

Read at your own risk. ( and I suggest you don't if you are planning to watch Firehouse some day)
Which leads me to my main criticism: why did he die? I really didn't see that coming. It doesn't make sense. I fhe had bene alive, I could at least have finished the story in my head, but with him being dead?
Does anyone know if they changed the ending after they knew that the series wasn't picked up by the network? Though that doesn't make sense either, since it is unaired anyway, so why change it?
What annoyed me most of all was that I didn't see it coming, I didn't even worry about him before. There was no angst. As a consequence, I wasn't even sad when he died. Well, we don't see him die, we are just told, so it seemed kind of unreal.
In fact, I was a bit relieved that he was dead. That way, I don't have the feeling that I missed much when it comes to this series. Because I sure wouldn't have watched it without RDA.
Oh, the downloads are done! Going to watch new Staragate now, bye!
