Here's some things you should know about the current status of Oceana:

*Oceana is not dead!

*Oceana is way waylaid by real life (life? Hah! what life?)

*Oceana has not watched every Don Johnson movie she could get her hands on during the past few weeks. (OMG the icon it sparkles!)

One of the above statements is a lie.

Also, here's a link: http://www.beedogs.com/index_files/page0001.htm

Somewhere in there, there's a deep metaphore for my current real life situation. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.

This is hopefully the first in a series of posts that could all be titled "Things I meant to post in 2007, but didn't". This one's subject is

Communities I enjoyed in 2007

Let's start with [livejournal.com profile] daily_puppy, because it definitely was one of my favourite picture communities of the year. PUPPIES! Every day! Yes, sometimes the comments of the owners make me want to throw things at them, but there is no way a flist cannot be made a better place by adding a puppy a day. Also, in contrast to [livejournal.com profile] bentolunch (I blame [livejournal.com profile] raqs), [livejournal.com profile] daily_puppy is manageable, since there is only ONE puppy per day, compared to countless bento lunches. I love [livejournal.com profile] bentolunch, but I had to create a special filter for it which I only look at once a week or so. As much as I like looking at other people's bentos, I don't want them appearing between JD slash and Jensen ackles pictures, and whatever else my flist was posting last year.

Not quite as manageable as [livejournal.com profile] daily_puppy but nonetheless on my regular flist is [livejournal.com profile] in_my_purse. This is where people post pictures of their purse and its contents. In other words, Purse!Porn. Of course, Purse!Porn goes much better with the usual themes on my flist. Speaking of porn, this list would not be complete without [livejournal.com profile] j2_daily. Which needs no further introduction, me thinks.

On the less sexual entertainment front, there is of course [livejournal.com profile] peanutsdaily and the provoking, often cruel and always intelligent [livejournal.com profile] softerworldfeed. And [livejournal.com profile] ng_photo, stunning pictures that didn't make it into National Geographic articles, because apparently they have a limit on how many stunning pictures they can post. Which is why they post the rest on LJ.

And then there is a German community that I love: [livejournal.com profile] kochkinder, a cooking community with friendly people, good recipes and researches. Most of the English speaking cooking communities were too busy for me, so [livejournal.com profile] kochkinder is perfect.

Miss the fannish communities? There are so many I watch and enjoy that I don't even want to try to describe which ones I liked why. Just a few will get a special mention:

First of all, [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief, which I could not live without and which is definitely the best of all the fandom newsletters I subscribe to. A HUGE thank you to the editors which do an incredible job of collecting, editing and posting EVERYTHING that goes on in LJ SG fandom, thus making every second Thursday a Stargate party. I love it even more for being SG-1 only, because as much as I like SGA, they are two DIFFERENT fandoms and two different shows, and when I'm loooking for the one I'm not looking for the other (and I'm looking for The One a lot more often than for the other, as indicated by the totally intentional wording used in this sentence.)

Other honorary mentions: [livejournal.com profile] sg1_five_things, which isn't as popular as it used to be, but still fun to read (and one of these days I will become inspired, right?), [livejournal.com profile] sg_one_a_days, with one SG picture every day to remind us of ten wonderful years and last, and least, [livejournal.com profile] unit_command , where nothing (much) happens, but it's The Unit, which was incredible this season and last season, and it's the only Unit community with any kind of activity at all.

I hope you enjoy one or more of these communities as much as I did. And feel free to pimp in return...communities, feeds, lj users, whatever rocks your boat.
BtVS/Angel
Buffy was my first online fandom. I used to know all the important URLs by heart, and there were many important ones.
Now I only have a few meagre bookmarks left from what once was my biggest fannish love.
*sniff*
It's a bit sad.

More links, in many more fandoms. You all know by now that I'm a fandom trollop (*smiles at [livejournal.com profile] alyse*), so next I'm going to share some links in fandoms that I don't talk about very often, but love nonetheless.

We start with the A-Team:

Heh, I bet you didn't know that I'm an A-Team fan. No, I don't watch the show, but I used to. In fact, A-Team was my first fandom.
I was very much in love with Face, so much that I literally blushed everytime he smiled at the camera.
I wrote fanfic. Mary-Sueish fanfic. It was still better than many things at ff.net. Face was my uncle, Murdock was my brother. Me and my best friend were parentless and stole cars for a living until the A-Team found us. We were a lot cooler than Hanibal and a lot smarter than Col. Decker. But then, everyone was...
Did I mention that I was about 8 years old? *g*

Still, I totally blame my unhealthy interest in fast cars on my early A-Team addiction. One of these days I'm going to buy myself an A-team van and paint it black and red. People will laugh, but I will be my own personal hero behind the steering wheel.
And I refuse to believe that Dirk Benedict is 59. That is so not true. *denial*

But on to the links:

I'm continuing my link lists. You can find the others (X-Files, Sentinel, Stargate and recommendations) in my memories.

NCIS Links )

I told you that I didn't have many NCIS links. I left out some boring sites that are seemingly abandoned, but if you have any links to add, please let me know.
And I know that there are archives, but I'll do all the fiction archives in a later post.
Much later.

We've reached the letter "R". R like "Recommendations.
(why yes, i'm going backwards, I know that "S" is actually after "R" in the alphabet."

So here are links to recommendation sites I visit more or less regularly. )

*wipes sweat from forehead*
This is more work than I thought. I think I need some food and some NCIS now. Ah, yes, episode 2 is calling me. ;-)

I continue to go through my bookmarks, and we've reached the Sentinel folder.

You'd think that with such a popular show - at least in slash fandom - there'd be tons of TS sites out there. Truth is, I have yet to find a good, comprehensive TS site that isn't totally out of date. There are many J/B sites, but it's hard to find information just about the show.
Anyway, here are my

Sentinel Links )

BTW, these lists aren't meant to be complete. If you have a stunning Stargate or Sentinel site and weren't included, that could be because I have your site bookmarked in my author or in my fanart folders.
I have so many bookmarks, and it was time to clean them up a little, see what's out there, what has disappeared etc, and I thought, while i'm at it, I might as well share with you. Of course, if you know about any good sites that I havent mentioned, feel free to leave a comment, There is always a chance that I don't know them.

As promised, my Stargate bookmarks (without archives and authors)

More Stargate than you can shake a stick at )

That's it. My fingers are bleeding, and if I see one more html tag I'm going to scream. I hope this is useful for some of you.
I might do my other fandoms as well, and I'll definitely do the fanfic archives list. One day. You may have to kick me from time to time.

Remember when I said I wanted to go through my bookmarks?
Well, I am doing it right now, and since it seems to be one of these backwards days, I started with the X-Files folder.

Useful X-Files Links )

That's it, all the XF links I have in my bookmarks, except for the archives, but we'll get to them later. I need to prepare dinner now, so later could be a lot later.
Next on my list is Stargate. I don't really have as many SG sites bookmarked as one would think, given how much I love the show.
