Question for all the smart computer people on my flist:
I haven't installed service pack 2, because everyone tells me it sucks. I don't particularly want to install it. With my home computer, run on Windows 98, I can go to the Microsoft Update page, it scans my computer and tells me which security patches I'm missing. I can decide which wants I want to install.
With this computer, running on XP, I can only find the option where the security patches are automatically installed. I haven't tried it yet, because I'm afraid that it will install service pack 2, which will probably mess up my P2P programs.
Help?
Does anyone know what happens when I click: automatic update now? Or go to the MS homepage and click "Install now" on the update page?
Does anyone have a pretty, safe Mac they could send me?
