Studio 60
I think this show has an enormous potential and I truly loved the first two episodes. This one? Not so much. It was far from bad, but the other two were more tightly written and had better ideas and lines. This one seemed to just dabble along for 45 minutes, with no real highlights or a real ending. I was also a bit annoyed by yet another "does this seem gay?" comments. THis is Aaron Sorkin, for God's sake, he'd hav to be blind if he didn't know about slash. And if he knows, I'd like him to play with it a bit more subtle, instead of making fun of it this way.
I trust this show to become as good as Sports Night, but it isn't yet, and with the bad ratings, they should better start their improvements soon.
Eureka
Hm. I was a bit bored. I like Carter/Allison, they are clearly attracted to each other. But they are also incredibly boring together, what this episode proved. I want the m to flirt and aybe have sex with each other, but I don't want them to have an actual relationship. I don't want Carter to want this. So this episode really didn't work for me.
Also, not enough Stark.
NCIS
Tony is HOT HOT HOT. Gibbs is an asshole who doesn't deserve to get his job back. No wonder he got divorced three times. The Director can't resist Tony's hotness, which makes me like her (On no!), because it shows that she is human after all. McGee was in a bad mood, probably because Tony is sleeping with Jen, and Ziva, oh, if I didn't know that she acts stupid on purpose, I'd be really annoyed with her right now.
I love Ducky.
Smith!!!
Oh, Smith! OH Smith!
*cries*
Why? Why? I love you so much and you had to get yourself cancelled? Yes, I watched this episode twice in a row, just like the other two, and 'm going to watch it again, and then again and again until I know you by heart. COME BACK!
Veronica Mars
For the first time, a Veronica Mars season begins and I like it. I usually only start liking this show after the 6th or 7th ep, and then I have to go back and watch it all again. Of course, college is so strange to me, strange in the truest sense of the word, as in I really don't get why anyone would go to college and live with a roommate in ONE room. And are there really dorms for girls and boys, seperated? Seeing the the US is the country with the highest teenage pregnanncy rate in the developed world, do you really think that this is successful? How about teaching students to be responsible adults instead?
Anyway, liked the episodes except for the too obvious teenager stuff, like Wallace and his new weirdo friends trying to look at breasts (breasts! Oh no!) and the dorm stuff. That's just too strange for me to find it entertaining or amusing.
Bones
I always like Bones. I can't think of anything special to say about this ep, but I liked it.
Supernatural
Liked this episode a lot better than the pathetic season opener, though I'm still unsure where all that talking is coing from. At least Dean behaves half-way like a normal male, Sam however? What's wrong with him? Okay, it's not him, it's the writers, but this kind of "we have to spell out everything otherwise our teenage girl audience won't get it" is exactly what seperates this show from the good shows. It would be so much better if it wasn't so obviously written for a bunch of 13 year olds. It has all the potential to be a good show: the pretty actors, one of whom can even act, the special effects, the setting, the stories and the pacing to tell these stories. I just wish they'd get over themselves and let the men be men. Or at least boys, and I don't mean the version that teenager girls dream of either.
BSG
Hm, I don't know. I liked the eps, I am very much looking forward to see more, but I don't know what to say to the specifi things that happened. Loved Kara and Leoben, not sure what to think of the kid (who was really disgustingly cute, even I went "awe" and I don't even like kids. How can she be so adorable?). Loved Roslin, as always, and am glad to see that other guy back, whatever his name is (the one who ran for president?). As always, absolutey loved Sharon, who is just amazing in everything she does. Also loved Tigh's wife (I forgot all the names, the show was off for too long), because she once again shows that she is willing to do everything for him. Okay, so she always choses the wrong thing, but she does it out of love.
Overall, I think it was an excellent set-up for the new season. Yay, new BSG!
Men in Trees
Heh, bet you didn't even know I watched this one, did you?
They slept with each other! Finally! And they were sexy doing it! And then they went fishing, which was kind of cute, too! I'm just sad to see that he is really falling for her, whereas she still doesn't have a clue what she wants, but I'm happy with that, it mean this thing between them can continue a while. Wasn't too thrilled about the whole "I'm a virgin" thing, though it seemed logical.
Numb3rs
Everything that was good about the season opener was bad about this ep. It was boring. Charlie only got his standard math show-off lines, but nothing that established him as a character instead of an FBI tool. There was no Colby, not even an explanation of why he was absent. There was no Larry/Meghan. Don was Don, but nothing about him made me squeee. They touched a very delicate issue and -while they didn't exactly trample on it - they also didn't have the guts to make it into anything interesting. The stiff guy's from the art robbery division (or whatever) attempts to flirt with Megan were pathetic. She was even more pathetic trying to flirt with him.
If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a left-over ep of the beginning of season 2. Actually, I don't know any better.
